How we collect, use and protect the personal information you give us, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Last updated: 11 September 2026
This policy explains how Empowering Voices Support Services (EVSS) handles personal information. It covers this website and the enquiries, referrals and NDIS supports that come through it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Empowering Voices Support Services is a Registered NDIS provider, NDIS Registration ID 4-K7BJ9SG, delivering Behaviour Support, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Early Childhood Intervention. We work in person across Western and South-Western Sydney and by telehealth Australia-wide. You can reach us on 1300 094 527 or at [email protected].
What we collect depends on how you deal with us.
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, which kind of enquirer you are (participant or family, Support Coordinator, school staff, SIL provider, allied health professional or other) and your message. Your consent to us using those details to respond is recorded with the enquiry.
Our referral page hosts a form provided by Splose, the practice management system we use. What that form asks for is set by us inside Splose, and it generally includes the participant's details, the details of the person making the referral, NDIS plan and funding information, and a description of the supports being sought.
We collect whatever you choose to tell us, including your contact details and the reason you are getting in touch. Taps on the phone number on this website are recorded so we know which pages generate calls.
If a participant comes on board, we collect the information we need to deliver their supports safely and well. That includes health and disability information, behaviour support information, NDIS plan details, reports from other practitioners, and information from the people who support the participant day to day.
Like most websites, ours records anonymous usage information through Google Analytics, such as which pages are visited, roughly where the visit came from and what kind of device was used. See our cookie policy for the detail.
Health, disability and behaviour support information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act and gets extra protection. We only collect it where it is reasonably necessary for the supports we deliver, and with consent, unless the law requires or allows us to collect it without consent.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or retargeting.
We share personal information only where it is needed for the purposes above. That can include:
Some of the services we use, including Google Analytics, Google Maps, Google Fonts and the Cloudflare network that serves this website, are operated by overseas providers and may store or process information outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate protections in place.
This website uses cookies and loads content from other services. Our cookie policy sets out what is used, what it does and how to control it.
Personal information is held in access-controlled systems, in paper records where that cannot be avoided, and in the practice management system we use. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including limiting who inside EVSS can see what. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet.
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected for, and for as long as our NDIS, professional, insurance and legal record-keeping obligations require. Records relating to participants are kept considerably longer than a general enquiry. When information is no longer needed and we are not required to keep it, we destroy it or de-identify it.
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is wrong, out of date or incomplete. Email [email protected] or call 1300 094 527. We will ask you to verify who you are, and we will respond within a reasonable time. If we cannot give you access, we will tell you why in writing.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first. Email [email protected] or call 1300 094 527 and we will look into it and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner on 1300 363 992 or at oaic.gov.au.
Complaints about NDIS services themselves, rather than privacy, can also go to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544.
Many of the participants we support are children. Where a participant cannot give consent themselves, we deal with a parent, guardian or other authorised decision maker, and we involve the participant in decisions about their own information as far as they are able.
We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed. The current version is always the one on this page.
